It should be clear who has\nauthority. Just making this fact clear is extremely important if the\norganization has a matrix environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When you\u2019ve read the project charter, you\nshould know:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The purpose of the project<\/li><li>It\u2019s benefits and objectives<\/li><li>What project success will look like<\/li><li>Name of the project sponsor<\/li><li>Stakeholders<\/li><li>Budget<\/li><li>A description of the product and deliverables <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Points Typically Included in a Strong Project\nCharter<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When the charter has been put together, you\nshould be able to look at it and understand why the project was undertaken. You\nshould know any objections and constraints that are on the project. Main\nstakeholders should be identified along with target benefits of the project.\nThere should be a clear description of in-scope and out-of-scope items along\nwith a high-level risk management plan and high-level communication plan.\nFinally, there must be a high-level budget and arrangements for spending\nauthority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How Can We Know We Have a Top-Notch Project\nCharter?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are four signs that you\u2019ve crafted a project charter that can heft the weight of your undertaking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Project stakeholders not only approve the charter, but also assign the resources you need to begin.<\/li><li> The project charter can be used, referenced, and evaluated by even a new executive in your organization.<\/li><li>Clear decisions are made about who owns the budget and who is managing it.<\/li><li>The executive team has agreed to be accountable for certain measurable and achievable objectives.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With the rise of Agile practices <a href=\"https:\/\/actuationconsulting.com\/how-essential-are-project-managers-to-your-product-teams-success\/\">some may question the value of project managers<\/a>. However, project managers have had to redefine their role to address changing business needs, often moving upstream to the enterprise level.
